Welcome to the Third Age Centre

Southampton's Third Age Centre (3ac for short) is run by an independent charity, the Millennium Third Age Centre (Charity no. 1082317).

We are a 'wellbeing' Centre for one of the largest and growing sections of the population - active people over 50. We also provide a focus for activities, resources, support and information for active older people in the Southampton area by working with statutory and voluntary sector organisations to develop new ways of supporting older people's wellbeing. We host the Later Years Partnership which we hope will one day become the 'older persons parliament' for Southampton.

Our interpretation of 'wellbeing' is wide. We feel that good health requires the mind, body and spirit to be healthy, stimulated and cared for. To stay healthy we must continue to face new mental and physical challenges, keep learning, stay informed, learn to relax, socialise and enjoy ourselves.
[See the 'Attitude Factor']

Therefore we provide stimulating, relaxing and enjoyable activities in the fields of visual and written arts, technology, language, exercise, self-defence, healthy eating and fun! As well as an award-winning Community technology centre.

The 3rd Age Centre is a new concept, which is evolving month-by-month incorporating feedback from users, organisations and supporters. Our vision is to one day see a Third Age Centre in every city!
