Welcome

The Third Age Centre is an independent Wellbeing Centre providing a focus for support, resources, information and activities for Southampton's active 3rd Age (over 50) community.

The 3rd Age Centre depends entirely on voluntary support. A donation of £5 will help keep the Centre open.

Would your organisation be able to help support the Centre through payroll giving? (You can get a grant of £500 to set up the scheme. Details can be found at: www.payrollgivinggrants.org.uk) If so we'd be delighted to hear from you! Please contact support@thirdagecentre.co.uk

We Are The Best - Official

For the second year running the 3rd Age Centre has won a prestigious HantsWeb Award for Best Interactive Web Site!

The award was announced at a well-attended ceremony held on Tuesday 7th March at the St Mary's Stadium in Southampton. The ceremony itself was opened by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mrs Mary Fagan JP. Television personality and local Hampshire luminary, Philippa Forrester, presented the awards.

Thanks go to Tim Backhouse, Director of Community Internet Services, the 3rd Age Centre's webmaster, who worked with the centre on completely re-designing the website to win the award. Great emphasis was placed by the design team on accessibility for older people as well as stimulating content and encouraging people to use the site interactively.
